Our 2022 recipient, Brendan Burns was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma in July of 2021 at the young age of 2.

After years of treatment, in May 2023, Brendan was able to ring his bell!

Update:

Brendan gained his wings October 2023 after a long, courageous battle.

He will be truly missed by many.

Sophia, our 2021 recipient, was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma in May 2021. After extensive brain surgery and weekly chemotherapy, she was able to ring her bell this past week! She will continue to work hard everyday with speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Sophia, you have inspired us all with your strength and bravery. We are beyond proud and happy for you!

Our 2023 recipient, Isla, was able to ring her bell this past January 2024. after being diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. She completed 42 rounds of intense chemotherapy and 33 days of radiation. She is truly a super star!

Bianca, our 2019 recipient, is now fighting Hodgkin’s lymphoma for a third time. Her original diagnosis was in 2017.

Bianca continues to remain strong and fight her battle. This past January she was interviewed by WGN, after white sox mound master Hendriks learned about her story. Her story related to him as he was also recently diagnosed with his own cancer diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. With the help of Hendriks and the Weishar Foundation, Bianca was surprised with a grant from the foundation!
